Alton Miller is a genuine Detroit pioneer who played the city’s earliest house parties – and decades later he is still turning out authentic and emotive deep house.
‘Am Forplay’ is the lead track of his latest three track EP for a new label out of Berlin called Mister Bear Records, and the label have kindly given Juno Daily readers the chance to hear it in full well ahead of its release on April 15.

A mid-tempo roller with heady, subtly jazzy chords slowly moving through the scales next to smoky vocal cooing. it’s soulful in an understaded way and packing just enough dancefloor firepower to be effective but never heavy handed. Very much in the finest Detroit tradition in other words.
