24 For 2024 Tips: 12/24 – The Second Wind of Black Country New Road | Juno Daily
The second coming is imminent
What a tumultuous couple of years Black Country, New Road have had, what with starting out 2022 with the release of their critically acclaimed sophomore effort Ants From Up There which landed the same week that frontman and primary songwriter Isaac Wood opted to amicably depart the collective.
Cancelling a few imminent dates in order to regroup to craft an entirely new set of material which would then be taken across the world, the resulting tracks were given a sonic home this year with the Live At Bush Hall LP; taken from three consecutive nights recorded at the iconic London venue.
Operating as both a live album as well as the third full-length of material from the chamber post-rock outfit, in an earnest attempt to grant some poignant appreciation to these literal career-saving songs; 2024 appears to be the year the touring shall somewhat cease in order for introspective studio time to help chart out their next direction, while their avid fanbase who’ve weathered the storm through his awkward transitional period await with bated breath for the next chapter.
