Premiere: DJ Sneak’s ‘Beat Generation’ | Juno Daily

Undoubtedly, one of the best things about 2023 was the return of DJ Sneak.

After slowing down his output considerably after around 2013, he stopping making music altogether during 2020 for obvious pandemic-related reasons. But the Chicago-based house icon suddenly and without warning crashed the second half of 2023 with a prolific string of vinyl productions for a whole array of labels across the globe.

“He’d stopped doing music during Covid and really had to re-set,” Dam Swindle told us in their recent interview with Juno Daily, “Then when we spoke to him again he had this whole renewed energy and was saying ‘I just want to go back to what I love’.”

The Frosted label, based in Montreal, Canada, is the latest label to benefit from Sneak’s new lease of life. They’ve got a four track EP titled ‘Beat Generation’ coming on May 6, with three Sneak originals and a ‘Horns mix’ of the title track. But thanks to Frosted, you have a chance to hear Sneak’s original right now and right here.
