Aussie psyche heroes head to Brockwell Park

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have been announced as headliners of next year’s Wide Awake festival.

The Australian psyche band are the first act confirmed for the festival, held in Brockwell Park, Brixton, South London, on May 25.

The announcement comes fresh from the scheduling of their 25th studio album, The Silver Cord, set for release at the and of this month.

Keith Miller, Wide Awake Co-Founder and Booker, said: “We’re so delighted to finally nail down King Gizz! It’ll be ten years since I first saw them in the Shacklewell when they hit the main stage. We’ve tried to bring them over every year, and they were our most requested acts from our fans survey. I caught them up at Manchester Psych Fest in September and it was unreal. You will not be disappointed!”

Matching the excitement, King Gizzard frontman Stuart McKenzie said: “Fkn pumped to be back in London Town for all you beautiful people”.
