Twine Snags $12M for AI-Powered ‘Digital Employees’ Tech

Twine, an Israeli security startup co-founded by Claroty veteran Benny Porat, emerged from stealth Wednesday with $12 million in seed capital to build AI-powered technology to address the cybersecurity skills shortage.

The Tel Aviv company said the funding round was co-led by Ten Eleven Ventures and Dell Technologies Capital, with investments from prominent angel investors, including the founders of Wiz.

Twine and its investors are betting on the idea of “digital cyber employees” to handle mundane but critical work in a security team. The company said its AI-created “digital employee” is already capable of understanding and automating tasks in the IAM (identity and access management) category.

The company boasted that its funding team brings a wealth of cybersecurity expertise. Porat, along with co-founders Nadav Erez, Omri Green, and Justin Woody, previously held leadership roles at industrial control security firm Claroty.

Twine said the seed capital will be used to ramp up development of the digital employee platform, with managing and automating IAM tasks a cornerstone of its initial offerings.
