New duo are Spiral Tribe veteran and dancer/film maker
Wave Arising is a collaboration between seasoned ‘tekno’ pioneer Sebastian Vaughan – once a member of notorious anarcho rave sound system Spiral Tribe – and the dancer/video maker Kynsie.
They offer “an alternative frequency of rave culture, centred around the initiatic process and transformative benefits of music, movement and meditation, and on April 26 their debut album The Rooted Sky drops on Ransom Records.
Traversing abstract techno, polyrhythmic tech funk, deconstructed dub, shimmering psych, endless reverbs, acidic frequencies, hypnotic repetitions, unusual time signatures and meditative ambience, and using drum machines, guitar, field recordings, synths, voices, junk and kitchen percussion, each track is a different environment, which when put together together “form stepping stones across the astral plane”.
