Diogo Strausz on Samba From Outer Space album and JKriv remix: “It’s a total banger” | Juno Daily
Hear the JKriv remix ahead of album’s release
Brazilian musician Dioga Strausz has been speaking to Juno Daily about his forthcoming new album Samba From Outer Space and shared a JKriv remix of one of its key tracks.
“I’m always experimenting with old school Brazilian music genres and trying to understand how they fit in today’s musical world,” he told us, “and along the way, it hit me how samba and electronic dance music are kind of like soul siblings. They both bring out that sense of resistance, diversity, and identity, just in different places and eras.
“So, Samba From Outer Space is all about spreading some love and unity – it’s like a big ol’ musical mixtape that brings everyone together.”
He’s also shared a JKriv remix of album track ‘Dan=ça’, one of the seven tracks on the album, expected on March 15 and ready to pre-order now.
“JKriv’s remix is a total banger, I love the bassline he came up with. In my view, it’s got a bit more of that club vibe compared to the original, which gave us the perfect opportunity to bring in the talented Italo-Brazilian singer, Emmanuelle, to lay down some vocals on the mix.”
