Snitchy & Scratchy

The brainchild of Atlanta based producer/polymath Jonah Swilley – a founding member of Mattiel and also known for his production work with Moonwalks and Night Beats – and Columbus, GA rapper Brandon ‘Bez’ Evans, Revival Season’s debut album, Golden Age Of Self Snitching is out next month and looks like it’ll turn hip-hop on its head.

Described as a partnership “musically and spiritually forged in the twin flames of Georgia׳s Pentecostal churches and grassroots hip-hop scene”, the pair tell straight-shooting tales of our golden age — chop, cops, badass – ahem – ladies, self-snitches; drug-dealing and revolution are their noble subjects.

The album takes cues from Dan the Automator & Prince Paul’s Handsome Boy Modelling School and Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique — records which “showed me you can incorporate rock’n’roll with rap and it not be like Linkin Park” he says.

Juno Daily witnessed the pair in action in the intimate surroundings of London’s Social last year and can confirm they’re the proverbial canine’s testicles live, too, with a live set especially destined to conquer festivals and collect new fans quicker than a combine harvester. You have been warned.
